Information

C-Helm (Centre for Research on Cognitive Human Elements in Maritime Domain) is a multidisciplinary research and training hub dedicated to advancing the integration of human cognition and intelligent systems in the maritime domain. We combine expertise in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and data science with deep operational understanding of seafaring, ports, and maritime management to create solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability across the sector.

C-Helm's work spans automation, systems modelling, simulation, and both qualitative and quantitative analysis to address real-world maritime challenges—from GHG emission reduction strategies and port operations optimisation to intelligent training platforms and decision-support tools for shipboard and shore-based personnel.
